Jinjer has officially done it to me AGAIN 😂
“Pisces” felt like watching an angel and a demon fight over the same song.
One second we’re in these laid back, almost jazz influenced verses with Tatiana singing these beautiful clean vocals… and then she flips a switch and suddenly we’re getting absolutely DESTROYED by this deathcore sounding chorus 😂
HOW does that even work?!
Her ability to go from those soft, angelic cleans into those brutal harsh vocals is insane to me. It genuinely feels like two completely different vocalists at times, and knowing this was a LIVE session made it even more impressive.
But the vocals weren’t the only thing catching my attention.
The drumming on this was CRAZY. Watching his hand work and seeing him switch between leading with his right and left caught my attention immediately. I even started wondering if his background as a pianist has anything to do with that ability 🤔
And once again, Jinjer managed to blend multiple genres and completely different sounds into ONE song without making it feel forced.
That’s quickly becoming one of my favorite things about this band. I never know what emotion I’m supposed to be feeling because they keep changing the entire atmosphere on me 😂
And somehow… I LOVE IT.
I’m only at the beginning of this Jinjer journey and between “Teacher, Teacher!” and now “Pisces,” I genuinely have NO idea what this band is going to throw at me next.
But I’m READY! 🔥

The other voice you hear is just her backing vocals added later. Even the video you can tell it was mashed together from multiple takes. You can tell by paying attention to Tati's hand placement on the mic and stand between cuts.
Doesn't take away from the amazing performance, though.
The chorus vocal is a false chord growl, which uses the false vocal folds(what closes the airway when you eat or drink). Basically a broadband noise that is then shaped by the mouth, tongue, and other structures above the true vocal chords.
Yes, you definitely want to see a live concert video, looking forward to your react on "Perennial".

"I believe we had this idea to record a new version of “Pisces” when we first rehearsed the song with Vlad Ulasevich as a new drummer. His drumming makes the song sound really different. So we finally had some free time last winter, we went to Istok studio in Kiev, did a live recording and shooting, then added over some extra lines, like a few backing vocals and guitars, then Max from Morton Studio made this new magnificent version of mixing and here we are - Pisces video. I hope you will enjoy it!"

Going from those smooth, jazzy verses to Tatiana turning into an absolute DEMON in seconds was INSANE. And knowing this was a live session made it even crazier.
