Scotland was created specially for landscape painters. Five friends and I did the NC500 in a camper van. Took 16 days during which time we made over 150 paintings between us, donated them all to charity auctions and raised nearly £20,000.

I’m Scottish and live in Linlithgow in the central belt. I get away up to the Highlands as often as I can. I have done the NC500 several times, the Cairngorms, Argyll and Bute, some of the inner and outer Hebrides including, Skye, Mull, Luing and Barra. And I’m just back yesterday from a trip to Orkney, to see the 5000 year old Neolithic sites. I have explored so much of this amazing country where geography and history collide and are woven together. But there is still so much more to see, there is always something new and places you have never been. I feel privileged to call Scotland home and have access to its country whenever I so like. I have been to 12 other countries yet none hold for me the feeling Scotland does. The beauty, the history, the vastly varying landscapes for being a relatively small country. I feel a very deep spiritual connection to the Highlands and Islands. I can’t explain it however it is where I am meant to be on earth.

I am a Scot, and I live on the West Coast not far from Largs and have seen most of what you saw. I live on the water. I never tire of the view. I am very lucky. In fact, the Scots are very, very lucky despite the hardships for some... our views heal your soul even in the darkest times. I must say the way you described Scotland and your excitement gave me a lump in my throat!

Scotland is gods country it’s a fairytale all the castles the lochs the valleys and glens.
Nothing comes close to our rugged raw landscapes it can get you emotional with its true beauty. There so much too see and do but finding the time can prove to be difficult. Sometimes people moan about how bad the weather is but regardless of the weather our country is breathtaking and overwhelming. I hope yous come back to do more exploring Scotland is your home now too take care and Godbless you and your family thank you for the videos

The Unicorn is the National Animal of Scotland. Yes, a mythical animal is the national animal... my birthplace! Love how happy you were to be hiking in Scotland - best part: you were with your dad. I did a few week travel of Scotland with my dad when I was 25 - such great memories!

That's what my father always said when we pointed out something, 'I'm driving, I can't look 90° at the view'.
Now he's retired, he sits upstairs at the front of the bus with a pair of binoculars.
Some old bridges have inserts so horse and carriages could stop.
