Caught you on Tone Talk with Dave Freedman. Happy to see you schmoozing with a guy who really seem to want to see and help you take off with your amp builds. So cool he actually watches you channel. Love it!
Thanks for this, Lyle! I was able to get my Princeton clone (Clark Kanee) as quiet as my noisy house circuitry (50's house with more recent dimmer switches everywhere) will allow by hot swapping in preamp tubes while I had a dB meter app going on my phone in front of the amp.
So grateful to you for your knowledge and expertise but more importantly for taking the time share it with the people and instructing us on how to troubleshoot and solve basic issues as well as make more intelligent gear choices based on your experience!
I wish I lived near enough to get my Deluxe Reverb Reissue to you! Iām in UK. Have some Ok local techs near me but no way they take the same care over their with or have the level of expertise you do
Excellent video, always helpful. That board is different from my 99 reissue, i have power and stand by switch and ground switch and my caps are in the bottom in the door house. Blessings
Tip: Grind the end of the socket flat (remove the round edges), so there is more engagement on those thin nuts. This reduces pop-offs. Great videos!! Keep them coming!
Great video. I am a complete novice to guitars and amps. Im sure someday ill be able to rewatch this and totally get what you are doing to the amp. By the way your voice is incredible š
Thanks for making this video. I kept getting told that noise was normal in my 65 re issue. Soon as I get my stuff out of storage I'll contact you about bullet proofing it.
