Good to know I wasn't the only one who found it difficult to get past the idea of Jay Z doing air raids in WWII

I believe he used fatally wounded due to it being a wound that should have killed them... especially since they didn't have medical attention until much later.

Well, he was born in 1918, so he was 24 in 1942.

Jay Zeamer lived to age 88. . .He passed away in 2007.

As a child of about 8 years, I did the same thing for months, a few minutes most days. Until I was caught.  Never hurt my eye-sight. 1970 in the military was a Seabee, slave-labor overseas. Fell ill on deployment. Dr.s  hooked me up with Meds, so I could work. O.D. on the meds. Improved my vision, but it ruined my depth vision.  On R & R. I went to the hospital to get checked out. After testing they took me off the meds. Told to never ever take them again.

My aunt married an Italian guy who flew a air force F-4 in Vietnam, he was very very very short. He retired a brigadier general. The rest of my dad's family was Irish and very very tall. 🤣 I'm 6'2" infantry. My dad was 6'3 F-4 Navy mechanic. His 3 other brothers were 6'4" + with the youngest at 6'8" who was in the army doing statistics at the Pentagon. Normal sized people don't get to have fun 🤣

He was at least 22 years old. Because  he spent 4 years in college before WW2 started.

I can confirm that glasses make your eyes lazy. My vision was 30/20, got glasses because it was just bad enough reading the board from the back of class was hard, wore contacts for 5 years, vision dropped to 40/20. Combination of finishing growing and no longer wearing contacts/ glasses, and my eyes are up to 25/20 now.

The full line is Ben Affleck walking in saying, "I need your help, I cant tell you what it is, but we're gonna hurt somebody."
To which Jeremy Renner replies, "whose car we gonna take?" Movie is called The Town. Couldn't recommend it more

I read some interesting research that suggests that reading causes nearsightedness. Nearsightedness and farsightedness are caused because the eyeball is out of round. In nearsightedness it is too ovoid. So stronger eye muscles that put more pressure on the eyeball might actually make it worse.

Unfortunately, Warwood doesn’t make 20lb sledgehammers.

I really love this one!

My dad always wanted to be a pilot, he was small enough to fit in a fighter but he had pretty terrible eyesight without his glasses so the military wouldn't let him.  Didn't keep him from becoming a sniper though.  Many years later after he left the military he was working on getting his license before his health failed him, he got a fair few lessons and glides in though.

operation desert storm the air war day 1 by the operations room.  its an animated series that goes through desert storm day by day.  then they go into "operation desert storm the ground war day one". hoping you havent seen yet.

It is a shame that people like the Eager Beavers are only tolerated when things are desperate. Just think of how much more badass the military would be if they encouraged people like the eager beavers.

My Understanding of it:
Fatal Wound - Wound that doesn't immediately kill you, but will lead to death if untreated.
Mortal Wound - Wound that kills you immediately.

Nice content man, keep it up.

One of the greatest vid

A manlit. Gotta love it

What I love about this story is that it's a perfect snapshot of what the US military was like at the time

To explain, most of these stories could happen now. The right person in the right place at the right time can still be an incredible badass. But thus? This cannot and will not ever happen again, amd that's why I love it.

You just know LAAT crews are listening to Fortunate Son.
