JA...had it harder coming from a rich family...he rebeled against the rich shit...he didn't buy paint...he racked with the best of them and hit spots people are afraid to look at let alone climb up and do fillins...legend ...regardless of his family's status
I went to High School in the Bronx with kids from all over the city. Im from Queens and I thought i knew rich kids. But when i started hanging out with kids from Manhattan I realized there was levels to the money game. I knew rich kids from Queens. The rich kids i met from the city were WEALTHY. Like generational, influential type wealth...Definitely a difference i know what you talking about. I also remember a lot of those rich kids that tried to hang out with the kids from the projects
I knew a rich kid that came to chill at one of the basketball courts my friends & I chilled at whose parents would buy him $200 bongs - this was in the late 90s. Him & his older brother sold pounds of weed and ecstasy pills. Then he started sniffing coke and special k, he eventually died of a heroin od. Real dumb ish.
As a former doorman on the east side, you definitely see these types of kids who leave these big ass buildings in the morning dressed like my peoples on my block. They lack appreciation for anyone and anything. Never understood it.
Great explanation between east side & west side, at that time. Never understood why the privileged wanted to experience poverty while the less fortunate survived by any means necessary. Keep doing you. RD 357
