In this video, I react to a powerful and controversial story involving a BBC reporter and a Filipina professor.

The reporter allegedly questioned the English proficiency of Filipinos—but what happened next stunned everyone. With confidence, intelligence, and grace, the Filipina professor proved that stereotypes about Filipino English are not only outdated but completely wrong.

This inspiring moment highlights the excellence, education, and resilience of the Filipino people.

Sir Alex, they always make fun of our different accents but fail to notice our proficiency in grammar.

I am proud that I am a Filipino/Filipina. Westerners speaks English but some can not spell the word properly and poor grammar. I worked as a nurse and their documentations are poor.😢😢😢

I am always proud being a Filipino! As what Dr. Reyes said, my English is enough and I am enough.

Watching from Pililla Rizal, Philippines. I'm an English Teacher for more than 4 decades of my life and worked in BPO for like 3-4 years and had my accent corrected. Now I'm out of call center work at 62. Continued my tutorial job and I would teach my tutees how to pronounce the English words correctly cause mispronunciation may lead to confucion like where did you buy your bug may mean that way if you don't pronounce it as bag with the correct medial a sound. Thanks to this very inspiring video. Am proud to be Filipino ❤❤❤

I worked in a foreign country as a Filipina, and my boss was British. I served as his Executive Assistant, yet before sending important emails to the staff, he would always ask me to review them first.

I am Filipino, born and raised in the Philippines, my first language is English, and every other Filipino I know. It's the medium of instruction in schools from kindergarten to post graduate. Work and business is in English, even the guy selling coconut in the streets of Manila speaks in English.

I'm from the Philippines and I speak English since I was in elementary until I finished college. At present, I'm a school principal of a private Christian School and all my teachers , staff and students speak English well.
