I review Dark Side of the Ring's Big Boss Man/Ray Traylor documentary and found it to be one of the series' most difficult watches. Ray's passing had been somewhat shrouded in mystery after his untimely end back on September 22nd, 2004, and this is the first time I've really discovered the true nature of his final years, and the pain and struggles he was dealing with on a daily basis.
The NWA run with Jim Cornette and The Midnight Express, signing for the WWF, feuding with Hulk Hogan, making huge money, going to WCW (the nWo isn't even really mentioned), heading back to the WWF/WWE, criticism of some of the more ridiculous storylines like Undertaker and Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania XV, feeding Al Snow his own dog and driving off with Big Show's dad in a casket are all talked about...
But the real story here is Boss Man's personal struggles outside the ring in his final years, almost losing his family, and kicking habits only for it to be too much for his heart to handle.

My Wish was to meet Hulk Hogan.
I became friends with Jack Tunney & got birthday & Christmas presents from Jack.
Once a year I would get a blue folder with gold WWF embossed on the front.
It included all the recent signatures from the wrestlers.
I remember Boss Man’s 8x10 had extra encouragement on it.
Now I know why. Thank you 🙏
What a heel!
