• காடர் என்பவர்கள் தமிழகத்திலுள்ள கோயம்புத்தூர் மற்றும் கேரளாவிலுள்ள கொச்சின் ஆகியவற்றுக்கு இடையிலான மலைப்பாங்கான எல்லைப்பகுதியினூடே வாழும் தென்னிந்தியாவின் ஒரு சிறிய பழங்குடி இனமாகும்.

• கேரள மாநிலத்தின் 5 பழமையான பழங்குடிகளுள் ஒன்றான காடர் இனமானது அந்த மாநிலத்தின் மொத்த பழங்குடியின மக்கள்தொகையில் கிட்டத்தட்ட சதவீதத்தைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. 5

• இவர்கள் தமிழ் மற்றும் கன்னடம் போன்ற திராவிட மொழிகளைப் பேசுகின்றனர்.

• காடர் பழங்குடியினர் கேரளாவில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அளவில் பாதிக்கப்படக் கூடிய பழங்குடியினக் குழுக்களாக பட்டியலிடப்பட்டுள்ள அதே வேளையில் அவர்கள் தமிழகத்தில் அவ்வாறு குறிப்பிடப் படவில்லை.
