Jürgen Höller’s martial arts techniques are notoriously brutal, and in this video, we're giving credit where credit is truly due. We look at three of his books, analyze the mechanics behind his trapping and clinch-range fighting, and review footage from our own training sessions together—connecting these concepts to other combat sports to highlight biomechanical commonalities and see them performed at the highest level.

We also tackle a hard truth the martial arts community needs to hear: stop claiming kata has all the answers, and stop pretending modern applications were "always hidden in your karate." It's time to cross-train, respect other systems, and evolve.

Greetings my Broski Spartacus Petrakis here we train a bit at Combat Concepts. This style is very roots in Okinawa. Very very interesting. Thank you for reviving this to show how much it’s used in MMA and tactical and the battlefield the street amount the ring the cage thank you so much for thisresurrecting this knowledge into the mainstream

We do this in ashihara karate... the clinch range is what ive been going over a lot. Doing wing chun , muay thai, and ashihara karate its coming along well.

The analysis of trapping and clinching biomechanics is excellent, and it's refreshing to see such a strong emphasis on cross-training and evolving traditional arts, while connecting these techniques to other systems like JKD and Muay Thai—this is exactly the perspective the martial arts community needs.

Ashihara karate has a similar concept in some techniques especially the grab and throwing though it's done in taisabaki(angled body movement) .

5:29 other than Crash Entry, its Shoulders and Body strikes in general that are underrated. Styles like Baji use them as main weapon. Yet nobody have shown them and their use in depth.

...if you like to play round with standing grappling range stuff, if you haven't yet, I suggest taking a look at Richard Dimitri's Senshido (particularly "The Shredder").

Back during covid myself and a friend of mine who are both lifelong karateka with 5 or 6 styles between us started kind of instinctively adding this exact type of technique flow into our our sparring since it was just him and I. We came to the conclusion that when given the freedom to grapple and strike in ways that come naturally using Karate specifically this kind of stuff just sort of comes out naturally. Glad to see more and more people are sort of "rediscovering" these methods.
