I plan on taking an empty suitcase when I go in April!  Thanks for the ideas

As someone who has extreme light sensitivity issues I truly appreciate you letting your viewers know in advance and providing a time stamp, thank you! I’ll happily listen and watch when you show off your haul, and I just subbed😊

Amazing haul, I would never wanna leave that art supply store and stationary store. 💚💚💚 I love the Sakura fine liners the micro ones but I also love their gelly roll pens. The white one especially as I find it’s brilliant to use for highlights 💚💚

My granddaughter went to Japan last summer with a friend. She bought back a lot of art supplies. She bought back the same watercolor gouache paints and copic markers. I haven’t used the paint yet.

Gansai I like alot and reasonably priced too.

I loved this and it absolutely helped solidify plans to hit up some art stores when i take a trip to japan next year. would love to see a video about fountain pens! I've just started becoming interested in them and i feel like I'm a bit out of my depth. This made me so excited to visit Japan, thank you for sharing!

I have the same baron! A lot of Japanese supplies are quite accessible in australia but not all of them so it was cool to see what you got :)

The book that opens accordion style can be used for ekistamps but it is traditionally meant for goshuin. Goshuin are stamps/seals that you receive at temples and shrines. Sometimes they will hand you a slip of paper with the goshuin on it and other times they will calligraphy them (and sometimes draw some art) directly into the book. The book is called a goshuinchō (directly translating to "book of seals") and is meant to document your pilgrimage through all of these different places of of worship. In recent years, people collect these seals/stamps as a really cool way of remembering their trip to japan and buying the goshuin helps support the temples and shrines that you visit. If you ever decided to do this make sure you have 2 different goshuinchō, one for temples and one for shrines since they are different religions. I love the idea of making it into a sketch book though and the accordion style is just too cool.

Loved the video and the haul. Holbein paints are the best. <3

Ugh I need more art stores close to me :((

Holbein is great.

I love your videos so much!

I really love this!

Oh, yes, please make a video about fountain pens. I love sketching with ink and have a tiny collection, but I always look for new pens and recommendations. Of interest: Are you also using drawing inks (e.g. the Rohrer & Klingner "Zeichentusche")?
Thanks for this video, I did a small supply haul in Japan last year <3. If you love hiking, I recommend the Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgrimage trail. I walked this one and loved it so much. It's very long (1200km), but walking a small part of it is fine. I bet you would love all these old temples and the beautiful countryside.

Awesome haul! The accordian book is for collecting stamps or seals (goshuin)  from temples and shrines. Collecting the stamp signifies the person's patronage/visit at the shrine or temple.  I've also seen people use these types of books for eki stamps but its not the intended purpose.

I go to Japan in …18 days now I think 😂 and Sekaido is on my list as well as pigment Tokyo and saiun-do Kyoto

Do you remember if they have GIFT Wrapping paper? thank you
O....M....Gosh!!! I am scared!!! i love everything stationary....thank you

I'm wondering - how can someone do such a great travel to Japan, having a phantastic art-supply-haul and forgetting about it? Is it unconciousness? Is it not special to you? Hm.... very weird.
