WOW! What great explanations of his techniques and achievements!

ive just startet building puppets my self, after having dealt with sculptures for many years. suddently they were just to formal, to inanimate and lacking any sort of narativ qualeties. I build my first puppet two weeks ago -it is very rudimentary, but still i was so suprized to see how much life and caracter was in it allready.
So thank you jim rose, and thanks for uploading, this is a great introduction. Very tuching to see how much he is in touch with each of his puppets, and how much thought that went in to every string

Amazing how many moves they have - very advanced !  Very interesting ! I puppeteered with old dutch puppets about 50-55 y ago. They were not so advanced. Such fun to enchant the children, make them glow with engagement, come close to the screen, but never look up !

Very instructive and helpful!  Regards from Baltimore.

What a lovely man, a wonderful explanation of so much... Thank you 👍

The split screen is great to show how his hand movements control the marionette. Fascinating.

They are really cool.  You are really good at working them.. thanks for sharing..

How wonderful! and what is this beautiful music?

Such a great video. Thank you so much for posting this. One question, does the PofA archive have any video footage of Henson writer Jerry Juhl from the 2005 National Puppetry Festival? If so, I would love to see video of him. Thank you.
