While I was making Arbuckle, I discovered a series of Garfield comics which had been lost for 40 years. Today on Quinton Reviews, we discuss Jim Davis’ unseen work. From Gnorm Gnat... To Jon.

“When I was young and obsessed with Garfield”
You mean today

Oh my god, you have to send that library historian a cake or something. The fact that they went digging up the Jon strips on their own when nobody even knew they existed is pretty amazing.

So technically, the Garfield we all know today is a reboot

I like how Quinton actually did something big and impacted the history of Garfield

Fun fact: Jim once wrote that Garfield was born in an Italian restaurant, with "snow falling like parmesan cheese" outside the window-despite the fact that Garfield was born in June.

I think this is him subtly referencing Garfield's true January birthday.

Never underestimate the power of the public library system!

Welcome to archivism.

The most obscure little efforts can have incalculable meaning one day.

Someone, somewhere, argued for the storage space for those old newspapers.

I'm surprised that Gnorm's girlfriend doesn't have her name spelled 'Gnatasha'. Missed opportunity.

I didn't think Garfield could've look any weirder until I saw Beta Garfield.

Gnorm Gnat feels like something made up for a creepypasta. The fact that it's lost media, the strange character design, the darker jokes including suicide, the infamous urban legend ending...

This is a Garfield channel now and I'm ok with that

When will Quinton finally acknowledge the existence r/imsorryjohn?

Quinton is quickly becoming the Jesus of the Garfield religion

@kayleighbrown459 7 years ago

That's.....actually really cool. Like, all joking aside that's honestly really cool, especially if you're into lost media/comic history.
I mean fuck, dude. Nice going.
