U.S. President Donald Trump unexpectedly declared that Ukraine needed a new leader, asserting that Volodymyr Zelensky could not reach an agreement to end the conflict with Russia.

Washington's move drew a reaction from Kyiv, amidst disagreements over sanctions against Moscow and attacks on Russian energy facilities.
