Welcome back to Flight6677. In this video I unbox, assemble, review, and maiden the Yu Xiang F119S Little Bird GPS RC helicopter, the black military MD500 Little Bird version. This is a 250 size scale RC helicopter featuring GPS positioning, optical flow positioning, lidar / vision sensing, auto landing, return to home, figure-8 and circle flight modes, and manual flight mode.
I go through everything included in the box, including the custom 3S 3500mAh batteries, charger, radio, skids, rockets, machine gun armament, spare blades, and manual. I also explain the helicopter’s dual brushless direct-drive setup, radio functions, LED status lights, gyro calibration, compass calibration, and GPS setup before the maiden flight.
At the field, I test the F119S Little Bird in GPS mode, vision mode, and manual mode, including return to home, circle flight, figure-8 flight, flight behavior in wind, throw rates, and flight time. I also compare it with the RCA C189 Little Bird and the Rotor Scale UH-1Y to show the size difference and overall scale presence.
This black MD500 military Little Bird looks fantastic in the air and has impressive scale detail, but I also discuss a few issues, including low throws, tail noise, resonance, and the risk of accidentally hitting the wrong switch and dropping the helicopter. If you’re considering the F119S GPS helicopter, this video should help you decide whether it’s worth the price.
