===========================

Hi i'm Casey 👋 A small-town Canadian looking to make the greatest gaming content on Youtube. In this video I go through over 30 years of Need for Speed Games games to see how much they've changed since EA started the racing franchise. I go through all the hits, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Underground, and some really weird ones like Need for Speed: The Run or Need for Speed: Nitro! Starting with 1994's The Need for Speed on the PlayStation 1 all the way to 2022's Need for Speed Unbound on Xbox Series X & PlayStation 5. I played through every single of one, so let's find out how they've held up!

"That's your best lap...you placed last!" is diabolical.

The part about not being sure if you like games anymore because new games suck resonated with me so hard

@collinq77 2 weeks ago

This is the reason all of us that grew up playing underground just want those games remastered

Bro is making us cry in the ending...

Did I just watch a 1 hour long YT video about NFS instead of a movie? Yes, and I loved every single second of it.
Greetings from Argentina.

"I just wanted to go home" hit me in a way I wasn't expecting from a Need for Speed retrospective

started with nostalgia, ended with existential crisis...

Saying, "the futures here, and I don't think I want it" touched my soul bro, I am so with you on that.

Modern devs should be required to play games from the early 2000s for the first hour of their shift every day.

Man, as a guy in his 30's who grew up playing NFS with all my friends who have since moved on in life... That ending got me really emotional.

Man that ending almost made me cry. I don’t want these games to be history, I want them to be new and exciting, I want them to resemble what life currently is, not what it once was. That makes me think it will never come back.

NFS Porsche Unleashed (PC version) will go down as my most favorite racing game EVER and it wasn't even for the racing aspect, but for how you could buy used/crashed cars, fix them up, and sell them for profit. It taught you Porsche's history, but also how to run a business! I would repeat this while trying to own at least 1 type of every model until my garage inventory would get "full" and then start selling older stuff. Watching an old model gain value through the years felt amazingggg. No other racing game has ever filled this void. I still have the original game disc from when it first came out. The console version was COMPLETE JUNKKKKK

Honestly man that ending hit me right in the feels. I miss being a kid and constantly replaying these games over and over again. It felt like we’d never grow old, but alas we did. And things have just never felt the same.

if you can almost completely detatch nostalgia from the picture, old games are 100%, objectively better than new games

51:02 I was actually a huge fan of the customization in Payback. Like, the rest of the game kind of sucked, but the car customization was next level.

Man that last sentence killed me. Watching a Need for Speed video to get to know which one to buy on Steam Sale and then... that gut punch of truth in the end. My dad died a couple of years ago (63 years old) and I keep thinking about simpler times when I was still at home, able to talk to him. How much I would give to go back. Beautiful video with a really strong story telling and an emotional ending. Thank you.

I have so many memories with the original Need for Speed: Most Wanted. I grew up with that game—back when I didn’t have many friends, it became my escape. I must’ve completed it over 25 times. Now that I’m 31, I can’t seem to find that same spark in video games like I did as a kid. Thank you for this amazing video—it brought back a lot of feelings. You’re truly a beautiful soul.
