I’ve shared several of these vintage Halloween ornaments as shorter videos across platforms, and after making quite a few of them—and learning a few things along the way—I thought it was time for a full, detailed tutorial!
In today’s video, I’m making four new Halloween ornaments using vintage printable images, canvas drop cloth fabric, and Mod Podge. We’ll make two round ornaments as well as two with more detailed shapes, so I can show you the tips and techniques I’ve learned for working with both styles.
I’ll take you through the entire process, including the supplies I use, preparing the images, working with the canvas, applying the Mod Podge, cutting the different shapes, and finishing the ornaments. I’ll also share some of the little things I’ve discovered after making several of these that can make the process easier and help you get a better finished result.
And of course, we’ll start and finish at my Halloween tree! I’ll show you some of the ornaments I’ve already made, then at the end we’ll add these four new ones to the tree. I’ll also share a few ideas for other ways you could use these vintage pieces beyond ornaments.
🎃 I originally saw this ornament idea shared by Creating It Vintage by Kim on FB.

I’m also putting together a separate video showing you how I work with my vintage printable images in Canva and size them for projects like these. I’ll add that video here as soon as it’s available:
