I am 8 days post op and this healing process is DIFFERENT. I’ve had a lot of different surgeries in my life but this one hits differently. By day four I thought I was good. I did ten air squats and thought I was ok. By day five I was so sore due to that. I’m currently at day eight and I feel less sore. I don’t take pain meds during the day I only take pain meds if I need them. Your info is so spot on. I was depressed on day three I felt hopeless because I’m so independent - it faded after a few hours. Great info!

Watching ur daily vlogs gives me hope & a little peace. I scheduled my surgery today for next month. Im so scared. We have similarities: I have to apply for STD @ work, I have a fiancé (thank God), we're trying to conceive & these fibroids gotta go! Thank you for being honest & actually showing the incision, expressing the pain level & itching. Thats what I need to know. Everyone shows themselves months after they healed & not the actual daily healing process. I hope you're doing well, I'm getting my mind right for all this. 🙏🏾.

Thanks for sharing. I had bariatric surgery very similar experience but I am a loner. I can tell you those two weeks that was it was just me and my husband was the best time of my life less stress. I was so happy I love being alone I’m not a talker I don’t like being around people so when I do have surgeries, Jeff had two major ones I love it. I absolutely love it because it’s the most peaceful my life it’s been all year but for a majority of normal people I do hear that that is a common experience after surgery and I plan to have an abdominal myomectomy in the next couple of months and it seems like the recovery is going to be extremely similar to my bariatric surgery, except I’ll be able to somewhat eat, but I think I hear it, take it light and eat lightly for a little bit, which I am a pro at because I had to do it ultimately for almost a whole year. I’m ready I think you for your post.

I had an open and have been left deformed on my left side of my stomach. Still swollen after 3 weeks

I had my open myomectomy on July 16th, 9 fibroids were removed successfully even though mine was a high risk surgery which, lasted 4 hours . 2 unit blood was transfused during the surgery. Today is my 6th week and I m doing well. The pain lasted only for  2  days which was tolerable. I started moving around the next day .
The symptoms I  have been experiencing for the ladt 6 months were heaviness on the lower abdomen,unable  to stand  after sitting for a long time or had hold my belly to stand and severe dysmenorrhoea .

5 mins 20 secs - I didn't think we were allowed to bend down... Thought it might rupture the stitches or open the wound. But sounds like doing a wide squat might be the way around it. Due to have myomectomy next month. Thanks so much for your blog.

I had my open surgery for fibroids on December 20, 2024. But my fibroid was completely rotten and had a strange texture.

Do they give you anticoagulants to prevent blood clots? How long was your surgery?

My doctor did a good job. It’s week 3 for me and I stopped taking pain pills in the second week. I don’t know if I just recover quick, but my incision is still healing one of the sutures is peeking out so I’m still bandaged up but I’m like back to normal. I had to lay on about 7 pillows the first week on my back.
