Indonesia has Southeast Asia’s fastest train — but how does it actually compare to the world’s best?

We’ve ridden high-speed trains across France, Japan, South Korea, Morocco and China, so we decided to put Indonesia’s China-built bullet train to the test.

From the speed and comfort to the technology, design and overall experience, is this train really on the same level as the ones we’ve experienced in China?

We’re riding Indonesia’s famous Jakarta–Bandung high-speed railway to find out… and some things definitely surprised us.

Hey man, just a quick correction regarding the consortium.! 😊 It's actually the other way around: the Indonesian consortium holds the majority stake at around 60%, while the Chinese side holds about 40%. Anyway, enjoy your trip and journey here in Indonesia!

Yogyakarta, Baturraden Purwokerto, Malang, Bandung, Semarang, Malang and Surabaya are the best choice to visit.

Guys.. After getting off the Whoosh, you should head down to the lower level of the station and hop straight onto the Feeder Train, and it’s FREE to get to central Bandung station, so you don't need to take a taxi.

you should visited surabaya the city of heroes there is so many old town building and the best indonesian food you should try on. and after that you go to mt. bromo in midnight then you can see the beautiful sunrise from the top.. please bring your winter jacket cuz its really cold there the weather up to under 10°

I saw in another YouTube video that for the gaotie from Hong Kong to Beijing West, they go up to 340-350. In China, business class is above first class. Looks like Indonesia is the other way round. In China, we need ID or passport for tickets because tickets are in high demand, esp during CNY season and other long holidays, and the ID/passport requirement ensures no ticket touting

36:35 Correcction, that wasn't commuter line train that you rode in... but that was Regular Inter Town Long Distance Train or indonesia also Called KAJJ (Kereta Api Jarak jauh). The commuter just offering only round trip within inner town area between district.

You should hop off in padalarang station and switch to free feeder train to Bandung central city ..if you likes train journey keen to try panoramic train or Suite Compartment class..Jogjakarta and Malang are some of Java wonderful city to visit..
