I just read your page description. Exactly what I am looking for. I wanted to start machining to complement my heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers, welding side hustle. I don't want to make trinkets. I used to have a need for bushings with a grease groove for dump trailers. I moved so I would like to get back into it. Please, if you can, show some of the work you do, with an instructional platform. Thanks again

Thanks for the video...nice to see what good tools, good machines, and a good operator can do.  I have actually had good luck with the round inserts, but thinking about 8 fresh cutting noses vs chasing a circle makes a lot of sense.

Milling inserts have always been  the best option for interupted cutting, splines is a very good example or a plate with lots of holes. The downside is that the milling grades don't do so well in a constant cut. So I slow it down. Lots of really new great perfroming milling grades out there. But sadly the new grades are ina geometry that does not fit a a square or rhomboid or triangular holder. Great video and thankks for sharing,

The round and square inserts seem to run about the same, but eight corners on the square one is reason enough to get those first.
