I have started reading her book and, while my life was different… Parents were very religious, but my dad was very mentally abusive. Boy… Moon, I have cried so many healing tears.

Moon, you were a bright light in this Valley Boy's life. Thank you for noticing that culture, and for enduring the life you were born into. Although your father's work has always been an inspiration to me, I also saw that he was a difficult man to be around. My favorite part of this interview was your acknowledgement of how wonderful it was to be the object of Frank's focus in a loving way - something experienced by very few people outside of his family and inner circle.

I’m so sad for Moon Zappa. She’s a few years younger than me but I was so envious of her artistic, interesting, and to outward appearances, tightknit family. They looked amazing, loving and close. I’m so sorry it wasn’t true. I’m so sorry she was betrayed by the very people that should have protected and nurtured her. I wish I could give her a hug. You deserved better sweet girl. I know you’ve done better for your own family. My family was different but I too had to look out for myself. I didn’t have a loving and supportive family behind me. But we can do better for our own kids. We don’t have to repeat their failures. Instead we’ve learned from them and given our families everything we didn’t have. You have every right to be proud of everything you’ve accomplished on your own for yourself and your family. You go girl!

We were so young when Valley Girl song became such a hit. I think she had the ability to take over the world like a Taylor Swift back then, but the times & her family dynamic prevented it. Glad she survived it all.

Moon is incredibly articulate and likable here. She has found a way to process a very odd, irresponsible upbringing. And the interviewer was very good.

Wow. This is touching some of my pain as the oldest AND a daughter, and a "caregiver". 😢 But I'm at retirement age now, never had children of my own, and have been rejected by my siblings. The same siblings I helped raise.
