Stealth mechanics. Hastily introduced into almost every RPG game since the Thief games hit the market, even Dark Souls has some semblance of stealth mechanics. But most players don't even know they're there.

So today, we're going to see how far into the game we can get without alerting/aggroing any enemies, in a game that doesn't have a dedicated stealth mechanic.

This should go well.

28:03- For those unfamiliar- The bosses (and certain enemies) can smell you. This is why it is impossible to do this challenge with them. This is a datamined stat. Enemies have sight distance. Hearing distance. and "Nose distance". Yes- smell. It is pretty much put in as a "I don't care if you are behind cover or not moving. We want this thing to notice you" mechanic.

I have a different petition than the top comment to allow the run to continue: Define minibosses as enemies that permanently die when you kill them that can also smell you, and exclude minibosses from the rules just like regular bosses. Hits the Sen’s Fortress giant, and the Hydra to bring back the DLC (and Hidden Body).

Edit: spoiler warning, since I didn't expect this comment to blow up!

Petition to consider the Sen's Fortress giant's firebomb an environmental hazard instead of the regular aggro that only happens when you go up its staircase, so the run can continue!

So, at 28:24, he says that he can't kill the Hydra, because he can't get within 100 meters of it. So here is the thing. There might be something I have overlooked with what I'm about to suggest, I don't know. However, from what little research I did. If you get the hawk ring, and use that, alongside the black bow of Pharis, AND use feather arrows. Then you can reach the hydra outside of its aggro range. Now, you may write that we still have to one shot it. Again, this is done with minimal research. However, supposedly the Hydra's AI is triggered by player proximity, and NOT by getting hit. This means that if that is true, then you can shoot it as many times as you want, without waking up its AI. If you don't wake up its AI, then you don't aggro it.

I was gonna make a joke about how you don’t need to put yourself through this you can just play the Metal Gear Solid series but the more I think about it you should actually really try out at least the first three Solid games. You have such creativity when it comes to inventing fun variety’s of challenge runs you might really be able to bring some new horizons to the community. Just a thought!
