In 1976, NASA's Viking mission captured something buried in the Martian dust that would change everything we thought we knew about humanity's place in the universe. What they found wasn't alien technology... it was something far more terrifying.
Dr. Alden Rourke thought he was embarking on a routine geological survey mission to Mars. But when his team uncovers a massive spacecraft buried beneath the red planet's surface, they make a discovery that defies everything science tells us about time, space, and human evolution.
The ship bears Earth markings. The crew inside... used to be human. And the captain's name is one that Alden recognizes all too well - his own father, who disappeared 40 years ago working on classified time travel experiments.
What they find inside the ship reveals a horrifying truth about humanity's future, a biological infection that transforms people into something that can survive anywhere, hunt anything, and never stops being hungry. The crew of the Prometheus traveled back in time to prevent this nightmare from happening to Earth. But they brought the infection with them.
Now, trapped on Mars with creatures that were once human stalking them through the ship's corridors, Alden must confront the ultimate horror: coming face to face with what his father became, and learning that humanity's greatest enemy has always been humanity itself.
This is a tale of cosmic horror, time travel gone wrong, and the terrifying possibility that evolution doesn't always mean progress. Sometimes, it means becoming something that the old version of yourself would run screaming from.
