I think Christianity was never the problem that makes Aethists. It's the Christians who genuinely use the Bible as a get out of jail free card for rejection of science, committing abuse, and hurting people if all ages then gaslighting people into forgiving people that are not entitled to it in the sense that continuing on a dark path is naturally going to have consequences. To me it's manipulation tactics that makes me Aethist. I don't have problems with people practicing it, but I personally also don't see it. You do you though and be safe because the world is turbulent these days as America is getting it's Fall of Rome era.
