Odin and Loki’s relationship throughout the MCU has been depicted as complex, at times antagonistic and ultimately tragic. It is no secret that Odin was not the best father to his children, often putting his role and duties as King before being a father when it came to parenting. Odin instilled his children with his ambitions and beliefs, consciously or not, and then would punish them when they acted with those values and goals in mind. Odin was a liar. Yet, Loki is the one labelled the “Prince of Lies”… In this bitesized analysis, I delve into their relationship and explore the ‘why’ of it all — Why do Odin and Loki have such a tremulous relationship?
