Don’t forget Dietitians. I am a registered dietitian and work closely with Drs in the ICU for TPN and tube feedings.

Absolutely loved my ICU rotation. I asked my preceptor why he chose crit care and he said “it’s really fulfilling to get someone on their death bed and a few weeks later they’re up and talking, almost back to normal, all because of your help” and that really stuck with me!

I spent lots of time in the Cardiac ICU last year. Had three open heart surgies, the third was a heart transplant. Was in the Cardiac ICU for that surgery - before, after - for 25 days. All the folks you mentioned were part of my care team plus dietitians, nephrologists, SLP, vascular surgeons, neurologist, social workers, PTs, RTs etc. The team was absolutely amazing. I was very blessed. I was on VA ECMO, too.

It takes a very special person to work in healthcare and you’re one of them! I really enjoy donating to the anesthesiologist Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college because of my cerebral palsy! I really look up to anesthesiologist and CRNA!
