I don't think the second album is ever as good at the debut one that put you on the map. That OG V8 is so distinct sounding you can even tell it in traffic without seeing it...I was standing about a block away and there was some guy crawling around in London traffic and sure enough when it emerged it was exactly what I thought it was😂

God the new car really sounds like doggy doodoo. Old car sounds like the gates of heaven

New one still sounds great and better than 99% of new cars. But the old one is just so damn epic the 2nd one sounds just “ok”

Those cold starts are heavenly!  The old one definitely does it better though😆.

The sound is of course subjective, and I'm not going to argue which sounds best, but IMO the new car judged on its own sounds very good.

The old front is more agressive and nicer than the new version. Perhaps the back lamps seems aging, but the front is unbeatable! ❤

Great review, Ben. You covered things that we actual GranTurismo owners want to know.

I wouldn’t swap my 2020 V8 GranCabrio for the new V6 regardless of price.  Nothing beats the sound of the car with the top down - it’s not just that it’s a V8 it is the naturally aspirated nature of the engine that means you can hear the sound of the engine and intakes without being muffled by a turbo.   I didn’t buy it to be a sports car, it isn’t as it’s far too heavy. I wanted a car that I could drive at semi legal speeds and still enjoy without any turbo lag and immediate throttle response.  😊

old one for me all day long

It is worth noting that
the new version is based on the legendary "Giorgio" platform
used for the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Stelvio, and Quadrifoglio.

The OG engine is what gave it its character and soul. It’s the signature quality and is the best option for people who are all about the emotions of a car. The new one is keeping up with the completion and all about speed and precision. Feels like they appeal to different audiences. I’m more about the emotion side of things than outright pace so for me I’d prefer the old one 😊

What in the love of fuck is the 4x kiddo seat🔥. Im across the pond and haven’t seen this. Admittedly I only have 2 kiddos. Great video!

V6’s have their place in cars, but a Maserati needs a V8 in my opinion.

Hello Ben, from Ireland again, I just love the Maserati, i didn't before, until I started watching you flying around In one lol. It's great to see 👀 you getting around with not alot of problems 👌 keep up the fantastic work, buddy 😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Great video. I just did a tour of the Modena manufacturing plant and seeing they way the GT is made by hand and the engine is also hand built was awesome.  Great review of this highly under appreciated brand

I don't get it.

When I owned a 1968 Austin Healey 1275 Sprite in 1977 when I was 21 years old, with the roof down, the noise was glorious, and I was a hooligan. Making progress, heeling and toeing were absolutely necessary with a manual, four-speed box, and it added to the thrill of a 'sports car' on Scottish country roads with the racket of a four-cylinder, barely silenced, BMC 'A' series engine echoing off the hillsides. Full-on, broadside drifts through bends were aided by crossply tyres (what dat, you say?), and the whole experience was a riot.

The Maserati is a GT car, not a sports car. Grand Tourismo means, as one might expect, crossing continents at speed and in comfort, which isn't aided by a booming soundtrack. That's just grinding on a long trip of grand touring.

There is, today, an obsession amongst middle-aged dads with a few quid to make their cars sound like they know how to drive. I almost don't blame Matt Armstrong for this obsession; he's still a child almost reminiscing over raves when the music would make your ears bleed. But Dad's with kids?....please. FFS grow up.

Whilst the Maserati might look unsubtle, it is, by any account, elegant. Take an old one to Monaco and have it parked for you at the casino; no one would know or care that it's an older model until the valet hits the loud pedal and your teenage mentality is revealed. We are not Yanks.

The beauty of the Maserati is that it doesn't pretend to be a Ferrari. Although front engines are where Enzo began, he believed they were the complete car. Maserati is, in my opinion, the spiritual successor to classic Ferraris. They look lithe and somewhat menacing but ooze class, accompanied by a subtle soundtrack which turns heads but doesn't offend.

I own 2 Maseratis. 2011 Quattroporte S and a 2013 GranTurismo C-Sport

I really do prefer the original headlights, the permanently angry look just really looks good. However the Trofeo does look nice, I think they must have moved the fuel tank from behind seats to under the floor to make the boot bigger.
You still need spacers! Try some of those furniture button screws for the headlining, they don’t look great, but at least it gets the headlining up for now.

Now just to be cheeky, I have to say that thumbnail reminds me of the teletubbies!

I can't stand the sound of that Maserati V6. ...and I'm convinced that the earlier model with an engine to be proud of, would be more than enough fun for me.
