We take on the mystery buried for 2,000 years. Was Qin Shi Huang a great hero or a mad tyrant? What is the truth?
■ Part 1. Qin Shi Huang, the Emperor of the Empire
An exciting time travel journey to discover all the truths surrounding Qin Shi Huang!
Today, China has become the world's greatest superpower. A population of 1.3 billion people from 55 ethnic groups live in perfect order across its vast territory under the single name of China. One China—its beginnings start with the Qin Dynasty, the first nation in Chinese history to achieve the great feat of unification 2,000 years ago! At its center lies Qin Shi Huang! The territory of the Qin Dynasty was comparable in size to a continent. It was larger than the empires ruled by the Pharaohs of Egypt, and this colossal state lasted for more than 1,000 years longer than Rome. How, then, was this possible? How did Qin Shi Huang rule this vast nation, and what secrets lie hidden within his governance? However, despite his great achievements, Qin Shi Huang is often evaluated as a tyrant or a madman. Is an evaluation based solely on Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian justified? We analyze the arduous journey of a man who spent half of his reign touring the country to implement policies for the welfare of the people in order to maintain the unified empire. Through interviews with world-renowned scholars, we examine the misconceptions and truths surrounding him.
■ Part 2. The Eternal Empire: The Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang
