I do like how they play other games since Yugi whole brand is “king of games” not just duel monsters

All are not permanent, showing that the Pharoah can be forgiving, but only if they understand what they did wrong

Not knowing this existed, I was always confused by the first episodes of the anime. It’s like it expected you to already know who the characters were and didn’t even bother explaining why the hell this poor Yugi guy was seemingly possessed by a manly pharaoh or why he had the ability to scramble people’s brains. This recontextualizes everything lol. It all makes sense now!

It weird to think about how much of an icon yugi is in the history of anime, manga, and just toys in general. You said it best he literally had an effect on the world. Even years later he still stands out as one of the most dynamic and eye catching characters to ever be drawn in my opinion. For instance even after year of not being in the anime he still ends up coming back because people love him. I would even go as far as to say that he stands close to even Goku when it comes to his ability to just stand out in a crowd of characters and instantly get recognized because as a kid he gave you that feel like holy shit he gonna do it again 😂.

I agree with all your points regarding how the characters were back in the beginning of the story which wasn’t about card games. If I’m completely honest, it was way better when it was more into the horror aspect of the games, Takahashi-sensei wanted this series to be a horror story at the beginning but had to change the story to fit the card game theme because it was more popular than the rest of the chapters and his manga was close to being cancelled if he didn’t.

P/S: Kaiba’s name is supposed to be pronounced “Ka-ee-ba” not “Ka-yaa-ba” 👀.

Miho (the blue-haired girl) gets a reference in Duel Links.

But she only appears in one chapter of the manga.

loving the show even though it sucks it was cancelled but the season finale of season 0 was so fitting it feels right with this kind of story
