I used to sit and tweak on the logic Drums to try and make them sound professional and no matter how many tricks I threw at it still just seemed so stock logic. I’m not necessarily referring to the tricks you just did to make one tiny section of a straight beat. Sound better.
But actually composing a realistic, sounding player with the proper fills, intros, particularly endings.. which I have yet to find anything in stock logic for that,
You just can’t really get it in my opinion.
I did myself the biggest favor I have ever done in my music production life.
I bought superior drummer three.
I have since replaced all of the Drums on all of the songs I have ever recorded with superior drummer.
These studio recorded samples and playing styles are the best in the universe.
Out of the box, they are better sounding than anything anybody I have ever worked with that tried to record live Drums.
Just in case anybody is watching this video and having a hard time, throwing all these tricks at it, trying to get it to work when superior drummer is one click of a button. But again, you are good at what you do, man!
