In this video I test out the Panda Air Large inflatable tent in a 40cm snow storm. I keep the inflatable tent from RBM Outdoors hot all night with the Hori5 Max from Green stove.

I failed to patch some old burn holes in the floor and it ended up flooding my tent at 4am!!

Hope you enjoy 😊

Man I am watching this just now. Really feel for ya with that water and the pending cleanup and drying of it all. Looking at pulling trigger on Hori5 max Have been watching all the videos about proper operation to avoid smoke outs.
Cheers 🍻👍

We used 2‘ x 2‘ 1/2“ thick rubber mats under our tent and it seems to alleviate the problem of melting the ice underneath the tent

OMG it looks like the Titanic 🤦‍♂️😂 yeah bud you got a lot of guts me personally I would never put a hot tent on the ice on a lake

You were that kid that took running away from home. Literally.

Thank you for sharing your adventure and your learning lessons.

I was 13 minutes into the video and I’m thinking to myself actually even in the beginning of the video I’m thinking to myself this dude is crazy for having a hot tent on the ice me personally, I would never do it

Huh….wonder where the water is coming from. What would eventually happen . Why would you not exit immediately as soon as you see your floor melting?

Thank you for making that mistake for me!! You took it with great stride i must say. It would have abandoned in place had i tried it before watching your video. Thank you for your service lol.

I’ve had my inflatable on the ice twice. I always have my stove on top of a little fireproof grill table a foot or more off the ground. Luckily I didn’t get the melting you did. Thanks for the warning!

Whoa!!! Camping is in-tents 😬😉

Oh no! Maybe set up on land next time! The tent held up in the wind and snow though!

First time i see someone needing a bilge pump for a camping night! 😅

Gonna be trying my first inflatable tent in a week roughly by another brand . Can’t wait to camp in it though as something different. Sorry to hear about the water sure can patch that up and be good to go. Coat it good with silicone over the patch should be good

Ended how expected putting a hot tent on ice. DOH!

I just love your videos! You give the viewer SO many great tips and real-world situations. BUT --> as soon as I saw you were putting that tent up on the ice I couldn't help but think that using a hot tent (which can often get up to 60-80 plus degrees Fahrenheit) on a frozen lake just didn't even sound like something you should do. HOWEVER, having said that, you have provided us with a valuable hard-learned lesson. So, that in of itself may actually save someone watching this from making the same mistake. 😉 A little forethought can often prevent a negative situation from happening.. (Oh, after watching your last video I was wondering if a mix of hardwood and softwood pellets would work in the Hori 5 and I thank you for showing us that it indeed does 😃👍).

Oh man. Be careful out on the ice. Once the water starts to pool you can start a chain reaction. Lucky you didn't go through. Must have been thick enough.

I think you would of been fine if it was colder and not snowing. By the amount of water around the tent I think the weight of snow on the ice pushed it down and water came up through the cracks. I have had that happen in an ice shanty before. That was tough to watch🫣

Great video, too bad about the water. That's the thing about winter camping, stuff is going to get wet/snow covered, so then you need a place to dry the stuff out. I only have a unheated double garage, and have to resort to spreading the tent over my golf cart to dry (lol- it works). The clean up sucks. As far as the stove, based on your experiences with the Hori series would you stick with running softwood pellets or were you comfortable with the 50/50mix from a smoking aspect. I just bought a Hori 5 and have watched your troubleshooting videos. cheers.

I've got the vevor version of that tent (12*16) and it's holding air pretty good. I've used it 4 times now in -20c degrees, heat it up to 25-28 inside and let it cool down to -15, -20 and it stays up no problem. I only need to pump it back every 2-3 days. But i set it up with tue included pump and not an inflator, maybe your pressure is too low?

I wouldn't close the pipe damper. On mine the tree is no pipe damper cause thats what will cause you to have burners plug with unburned pellets and smoke you out.
