In the past couple of years we've discovered the amazingness of Japan and want to share these experiences and learnings with others travelling on a budget. As a former journalist, I want to give you value you for your viewing time, and make our videos as informative as possible. Nozawa Onsen is just magical in winter, whether or not you're partaking in snow sports. This video provides tips on sites to see off the slopes.

This gondola is superb, featuring high-quality leather seats. It is completely free of vibration and currently boasts the quietest ride in Japan—a truly impressive feat of engineering. That was my impression within just the first few minutes. As for the ski resort itself, Nozawa offers a fantastic "Japow" experience, with snow that is wonderfully soft and free of icy clumps. While conditions aren't perfect across the board once March arrives, the resort offers diverse ways to enjoy the slopes—from steep pitches to the exciting Skyline course. Now, welcome to the 10km-long run.

Thanks Amanda!! The female onsen at our accommodation was within the female shower facilities. The shower facilities were very basic and quite old (but clean) and the onsen was large and a good hot temperature. I think most times I used the facilities, even late at night, there was usually another person using them at the same time (we were there at a busy time). The hosts at this accommodation are really friendly (they do have quite a few young staff but everyone is very helpful).
