Props to Taylor for talking about his mistake like that. Always hard for a human being to talk about his own mistake

big shout out to Mr Taylor for his honesty, that takes so much strength and integrity to speak openly about that kind of mistake.

Props to Taylor for talking about his mistake. That's one reason FIFA should allow refs to be interviewed after the game so they can have their say.

Okey , i will never criticize a refree job , holy crap it seems so hard

Really enjoyed this, very interesting!

Mike Dean could write a novel about all his mistakes

wow I have a new found respect for referees

this series probably instilled a shit ton more respect to the masses for the referees in the game

Nice honesty by the refs. Disappointed that Gary Neville brought up the Stag Do - it was four nights prior. It's irrelevant.

We hope you've enjoyed 'The Referees' series, it really gave us a great understanding of how difficult a referee's job is! Remember to smash the like button if you want more videos like this in the future! 👊

as a Swansea fan i was fuming when the pen was given but this has given me a different view of the situation

Interesting watching this back now

Every single player in the league should experience this referee thing. Its amazing

Watching rugby and seeing how the players respect the refs and their decisions is something I wish footballers could reach some time in the future. Just recently I was watching Lions vs the All Blacks 3rd series where the ref awarded a scrum instead of a penalty to New Zealand for an "accidental offside", this happened in the last 2 minutes in the game and it proved to be the biggest decision of the match as the game ended 15 all. I myself personally think it was the wrong decision and many other people including pundits after the game all thought it was the wrong decision, but the way the players took it in, they never argued nor did the whole team gang up against the referee, cussing at the refs.

Premier league referees have huge pressure on them, they are match officials in the biggest league in the world. The game moves so fast, and their calls needs to be made in an instant. They are prone to making errors because there are many variables in the game.

I hope this series makes people realise how hard it is to be a ref. I think they're one of the most disrespected figures in the sport.

Really love this series! Shows a whole different side to what fans usually see.

I'm glad that at least taylor has a bunch to learn after each game

Not the best day to be revisiting this, in all honesty.

Jonjo shelvey hasn't aged well...

This series is absolutely fantastic, not just for providing a viewpoint into the mysterious world of match officials, but much more importantly it's humanizing these figures who are forced to play the villain every week. Prior to this series I don't think I'd ever seen a proper interview of a referee or even heard one speak, really (except maybe Howard Webb as a guest pundit).

Love how he embraces his mistake like that and talking about learning. He is old but still willing to learn and get better as any 17 year old football prospect.
