When I was a child this song scared the bejeezus out of me, but it was like a scary fantasy. Now it does the same again because there are so many touches on reality.

A timeless classic that sadly predicts our future.

I was 8 when this came out. It spooked me then, and spooks me still. And some of that has already happened. Enjoyed this!

This song was well ahead of its time, and first time i listened to this song it scared the bejeezus out of me.

This song scared the life out of me as a kid!

Great song when I was growing up. So different than most songs at the time. (I just figured out what you were watching. The video you watched was from the 1927 German silent movie called Metropolis. It was set 100 years in the future (2026). It was about the rich living in utopia while the poor were doing all the hard work to keep everything functioning. It is an interesting view of the future in Germany (and the world I guess) that was made between WWl and WWll.)

This IS a freaky song. I enjoyed hearing your comments on the topic. You are right - the world is moving soooo friggin' fast - rather scary as you feel no one is saying "Wait a minute, just wait.." You guys are younger and to hear you reflect on the changes in just the last decade (for you) truly sends this message home. Thanks so much for this thought provoking reaction🦋P.S. If you travel back to the 70's you may not want to come back!🌈

When I was a child this song was a catchy tune. Now with a lot of these lyrics coming true. The only people with computers were large corporations. They had to store them in sterile rooms and they were so large that they took up a 6x6 floor.

The film in the video was taken from Metropolis, a silent movie made, I think, in the early 1930s. Incidentally the film was remastered years later with a Queen music score. Worth a watch.

I have my single 45 vinyl recording of this when it came out. I'm 71 now and could not have imagined myself now listening and still nodding my head in amazement.

Did anyone else catch that moment when "Bad Bear" guy almost started to cry? Moving.

Gosh I remember this song from way back. Thanks for this, I still knew the words! Glad you liked it.

I'm a huge fan of oldies music.

Holy crap, these guys got their start playing in the basement lounge of a Hilton hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska. I was an art student at the nearby university, and sometimes after working late on some project, I would bop down there for a drink, and on football weekends joke around with some (ahem) professional ladies that came into town to make some money off football fans. Good times.

"We've taken everything this world can give and put back nothing"
Will it improve? I wish I could believe it will. Sadly I don't. I'm an old cynic I know. Great reaction guys.
