I remember watching this show back in the day and thinking this guy was seriously savage. Thought I'd share this gem of a show with my American Fiancé. It's fair to say she got hooked pretty quick.

Please recall that most of this stuff is mild compared to what they put the actual SAS through.

The SAS are widely regarded as one of the most - if not the most - elite military branches in the world, not just the U.K. if this is the celeb version, it’s likely a very, very light version of the real thing (seeing as even the regular TV show is a light version).

Just a few pointers for you guys.
1. The show takes place over around 8 days, the real SAS/SBS training takes place over 6 months.
2. The shouting is only added for effect. In the real training there is no shouting and you're pretty much left to your own devices and to make your own mistakes.
3. SAS/SBS do the exact same training, or selection as it's called. Only after passing do the SBS go on to do amphibious training. This doesn't mean that training has stopped for you if you choose SAS.
4. SAS/SBS are tier 1, as in the best of the best. Delta Force are also tier 1 and were modelled after the SAS. Charlie Beckwith, an American Green Beret served as an exchange officer with 22 SAS in the 60s and he instantly realised that the US had a huge capability gap by not having similar units.
Delta is modelled after SAS
Its naval wing DEVGRU is modelled after the SBS.
5. The SAS/SBS (and Royal Marines) are the grandfathers of special forces units around the world having first been used in WW2.
They are without a doubt the best special forces in the world.
Some very very basic details there but hope it helps.

The guy who replaced Ant Middleton is Rudy Reyes who was a member of the US Marine 1st Reconnaissance Battalion (aka Force Recon,MARSOC, Raiders), not the high speed tier 1 operators that the SAS are but are considered tier 2 operators

The SAS and SBS are tier one operators, equivalent to Delta Force and DEVGRU. They were the first, and are often regarded as the best, tier one units in the world.

If I remember correctly he got taken off the show because he basically put a video on Twitter saying that COVID didn’t exist and people should stop being sheep and go outside and live their lives… at the height of the pandemic.
Aside from that, if you can source them anywhere, channel 4 did a 6/8 part docuseries called “Royal marines commando school” about 8 years ago. Would be great for reactions👍🏼

I love this show. I don't know if you've already seen, but they've just started this show in the US (celeb version), it's called 'Special Forces - World's Toughest Test'. I've already streamed the first season, and I've also streamed all of the Australian versions. I don't find Ant scary, but Billy can scare people just with a stare.

SAS equivalent to US delta force which was modelled after our lads this is a watered down version of the real selection I think the real selection is at least 6 months and British paras and royal marines fail huge difference you can't join from civilian ant Middleton was actually SBS the royal navy equivalent to the SAS the American equivalent of the SBS is devgru or what used to be seal team 6 all these are seen as tier 1 special forces regular US seals tier 2 special forces hope that makes sense! All the best guys from Norwich UK

I did 2 minutes of basic research:
'Ant Middleton was sacked from Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins due to his "personal conduct" which included controversial comments about the Black Lives Matter movement and the coronavirus pandemic. He faced backlash for comparing Black Lives Matter protesters to the English Defence League and for making comments that seemed to downplay the severity of the pandemic. Additionally, there were allegations of inappropriate comments towards female staff members on set, which he denied. Channel 4 cited a difference in "views and values" as the reason for not working with him again.'
Sounds like a load of shit to me.

Real selection is brutal. People have been known to die during the 1st phase of selection in the mountains. (3 in one selection once that lead to inquiries) But many SAS say selection really begins in phase 2 which is in the jungle.

SAS are known as SF which stands for special forces. Ant Middleton was actually SBS

throughout the whole military you never want to be the 'grey man' this is someone who takes things half hearted and nothing is a issue so putting them on the spot shows that everyone is part of the team and trying to just scrap by has consequences. This comes from the small specifics of orders to contact scenario's, you cant take two steps back ever

If you think Ant is brutal..which to be fair he is.. Look up Jason Fox another guy in this programme.. I think he is the most decorated soldier we have ever had.. He is unreal.

I have never been in the S..A..S . But even royal marines are pushed harder than this , and no one person in the sas would say they were ,this is like boot camp for troubled teens haha
