I feel like Lana sees Jeremy as very spiritually connected to his land and that is what she has been searching for. After being in Hollywood I’m sure that finding someone REAL is a breath of fresh air. And I believe she sees marriage as a rite of passage that has given her the security to focus her energy on going inward to heal her inner child and make new spiritual discoveries (red ribbon around my neck signifies enlightenment through security)

this is lana sharing some of her personal life without breaking character and I love that

you really really need to watch the music video for this one......... the whole song makes sense when u watch that video

how he saved her from the oven and now she is using stove to thank him

@jeanette2475 7 months ago

Stove is definitely about duality, one stove is the Sylvia Plath "head in the oven" stove while the other is the magic of a domestic loving life she always wanted that she has finally stepped into the magic of. The lyric at the end is "stick with picking daisies for instagram," maybe about how people have a curated image online but she has always shared the messy raw depths of her life in her music even when it got her in trouble?

Its so Lizzy Grant coded (Mermaid Motel), but more spooky Disney princess vibe with better production, the whole homemade video too, right back to Videgames. She's really done a 180 with her career, she doesn't care about fame, sales or big budget video's anymore, she's a trailblazer and she has critically acclaimed albums, Born To Die is still on the Billboard 200 after 12 years, the longest running album from a solo female ever, she really has nothing more to prove, she's happy, married and living off grid in Louisiana doing her own thing, fans are lucky she didn't retire all together from music. This song does show she still has it in her to really dig deep and experiment a bit.

i think 'my daddy' sometimes just means 'my man'. it isn't always about being a father figure or having daddy issues

This is what she said yesterday about their relationship dynamic:
Find you a man who smiles when you have to get up in the middle of the night cause you had a bad dream and the only cure is to do what you used to do in LA, probably the same thing he would do here when he used to drive to get up and just drive to Texas. I get my favorite podcast on put my jacket on, get in the car and listen to old soundtracks for hours :-). Regulate that nervous system, cruising all the way to Kenner and back just to get rid of the anxiety and then he welcomes you home at 4 am with hot macaroni and cheese that he cooked on the little stove in his pretty kitchen that he built. He asks if I wrote anything or if I was just listening. I was just listening.

I’m lucky. I needed that. No pushback no questions. Just a very big understanding.

And I pray that people let us maintain that peace ✌

its like spooky fairtale music with a ton of lana-isms thrown in

Lana doesn't have daddy issues, she actually has a great relationship with her father. Although she has mommy issues, her mother is absolutely awful.

As someone who has been through domestic violence my whole life….. please watch the video WITH the song. It has a whole another meaning. Honestly I think you did her and her art an injustice. She was showing everyone how her husband sat with her so she could heal. That’s what she had been looking for and dissing haters cleverly for attacking her man. She reached who this song was supposed to be meant for. Shes healing and I think that makes her art more real and a lot more powerful. And that’s why she has such a great fan base. I truly believe the song started creepy because nothing about healing is easy, it’s not a walk in the park, yet she still kept her beautiful grace thru out it. Respectfully, I’m not sure why you made this video because you didn’t put that much effort into it.

I like to think the stove and cooking are also metaphors for being in love. She’s not good at cooking/she’s had a bad time in relationships until now kinda thing

@dogukan7406 7 months ago

maybe you missed the Sylvia Plath reference?

@KeeganRobbins 7 months ago

In a post on her IG, she described Jeremy's hair as a "hawk tail" so I'm guessing that the white feathers are maybe white hairs in his "hawk tail" hair? Not sure if he hunts or not but it would fit.

@alyas3953 7 months ago

I interpreted the “stove” or “oven” in the song as a metaphor for Lana’s marriage. A stove/oven is a space that holds both warmth and the potential to burn. When she sings, “take my hand off the stove, hun,” it suggests a willingness to endure risk or pain for intimacy. Rather than fearing harm, she seems ready to test the limits of devotion, fully immersing herself in the vulnerability and intensity of marriage. She mentions this in her song "Wildflower Wildfire" too when she says "I wouldn't know what hot fire was" she has been hurt far too many times in previous relationships and has become numb to the point that she doesn't know what the burning feels like.

Daddy means “my man” very common in the 50s. Lana loves everything about that era. She doesn’t have daddy issues. She has mommy issues lmao.

@stylebysummer8 7 months ago

To be connected to another person who makes you feel as one is the most magical love. It's not being lost, it's being found.

@caitlin7825 7 months ago

People’s reactions to the ‘I love my daddy, of course we’re still together’ part keeps on confusing me, calling your husband daddy does not always mean you have daddy issues! It’s a super common pet name and can just refer to the protective nature men often have towards their girl, calling your man that because you know he’s there to look after you. I think it’s super sweet!
