Sorry for the wait! Here's episode 3 of our 2026 Golden Week Tohoku trip.

We started our journey from the Oga Peninsula towards Yokote City in episode 2.

We spent the night in our car at Michi-no-Eki Misato, just north of Yokote City.

It's a medium-sized roadside station with very clean shops and restrooms. The shop has a full lineup of Akita products, and it's a quiet place to spend the night, highly recommended.

The next day, we enjoyed a morning bath at a hot spring facility in Misato Town.

It's located within a complex that also includes a park and campground, making it a place where you could easily spend a whole day.

At lunchtime, we went to Fujiharu Shokudo, a regular restaurant among the "Four Heavenly Kings" of Yokote yakisoba.

Of course, there was a huge line because it was Golden Week.

As closing time approached, the couple waited anxiously, wondering when they would announce they were closing.

Yokote City has a facility where you can experience a snow hut all year round.

You can enter a "snow hut" made of real snow inside a facility kept at -10℃. The entrance fee is only 100 yen.

Yokote City is a castle town.

Although the museum's opening hours had passed, we decided to go up the mountain to see the castle tower anyway.

After thoroughly enjoying Yokote City, we began our journey towards Sanriku in Iwate Prefecture.

We spent the night in our car at the Tono Kaze no Oka roadside station.

However, we were hit by a natural phenomenon that lived up to its name.
