You needed to visit Pointe d'Esny - La cambuse - Trou aux Biches - Riambel - Poste de Flacq next to St Geran - Baie du Tombeau - Balaclava - but like many ignorant tourists you didn't think to ask a Mauritian but stuck to the tourist guide book.

Just back myself from Mauritius, stayed at La Pirogue, in Flic en Flac…..beach was very rough covered with dead coral, very unlike our last visit in 2007…..reason, the island was hit by a Cyclone in January, and there were 3m waves crashing up the beach, leaving lots of coral….such is nature….it will recover and reset…. Wonderful island….back next year…

I went to Mauritius about 1 month ago. The crystal clear waters and the colors depends on the weather, if it's too cloudy you won't see it, but if the sun is shinning you'll see it as the instagram pictures! Mauritius was amazing!!!

Would you please, tell me how to get Le Morne from Flic en Flac. I saw you walked 45 min. to get the beach from road intersection. What is the final destination of the bus you took to get Le Morne? Is it football ground?

The white sand in Mauritius comes from the dead polyps, from the coral reef. Mauritius is a volcanic island, so you will not get white sandy beaches everywhere. Mauritius is surrounded by coral reef; however, the closer the coral reef is to the shore, the whiter the sand will be. The whiter the sand is, the bluer the water will be. Note, you will also get some beaches with rocks formation due to past volcanic activities. And if it's a beach close to the mouth of a river, the water will not always be blue after rainfalls. Mauritius is beautiful everywhere and is truly a paradise on earth as Mark Twain quoted and it's unique with its beautiful people. Despite the diverse backgrounds, races and religions, Mauritius leads by exemplary as to how the rest of the world should live, Glory be to thee, motherland of mine. However, it is sad that in a few places still, a few of the locals are littering, and the rain washes those litters to the beautiful beaches and rivers but many of the new generations love and respect the island. And Mauritius can look forward to the future. Though, I wish the Mauritian government reduced the number of migrants coming in and over development in some areas, which are squeezing out young generations to housing affordability and making even some of the local produce too expensive because export is prioritised before the people's needs. Local produce should be prioritised for the people first and the rest, let the market decides. It's simple macroeconomic, the demands will still be there for exports. But exporters are getting greedy, national interest should be put first. I was born in Mauritius but live in Australia now but I am so looking forward to coming back and visiting and perhaps living there again. Time will tell; God willing. The best years of my childhood were spent in Mauritius. And I miss the people, the markets, the beaches and the food, especially the dhal pourri! Long live Mauritius! May God always bless Mauritius and its people. Thank you for sharing.

I also wanted to leave a bad comment or thumbs down because of the trashing of Mauritius throughout the video but these guys show both the bad .. and the good side.. so, all in all this is what Mauritius is about. It’s got a good balance of awesomeness and like any other country, a not so great side. P.s: I am Mauritian by birth (so I know the country..) and there’s a lot of other nicer beaches and places/ activities to visit/ do. Just not shown in this video.
