you're asking the right questions to stay alive, Evan

The E&Koli kitchen

@mdlay 3 months ago

I think everyone agrees we need a video where yall clean out the pantry and show us your extra long shopping list for replacing the tossed items.

@PinkSinsila 3 months ago

21:37 Actually, raw egg isn't the only reason raw cookie dough isn't safe. The raw flour is also a concern due to e-coli risk. But eh, you've ate worse from Katelyn's expired kitchen probably

@99Technetium 3 months ago

21:41 It's usually the raw FLOUR that causes food poisoning from eating raw cookie dough. And the fact that the flour is cough cough "well aged" probably doesn't make it better.

@J2Jgames 3 months ago

proud of evan for admitting the expired foods are just as much his responsibility

I absolutely need a video of exposing the pantry. Heck, I'd up my Patreon subscription to see that if I had to!

Please remember... "Best if used by..." Does NOT mean "Expires on..." !!

Apparently they were strangers named Daddy and mymomshesbiased 😮 cool names😂

On-screen: "random couple in the woods"; captions: "Evan's mom"
I mean, I was slightly concerned.

I think my favorite part of this entire video is the 4 raisins... ONLY 4!!! 😂

Regarding the eggs- Just use a float test. Put an egg in a cup of water. If it floats, it is expired and bad and you should not eat it. If it sinks then it is perfectly fine. I ALWAYS use eggs past the date on the carton.

I love the underlying lore that E&K are so deep in the resin and craft supplies that they can't be bothered keeping up with their pantry and everything is expired.

Katelyn's (and Evan's) expired kitchen slowly and progressively taking over this video is so genuinely funny to me.

22:05 cookie dough is actually inedible because of the bacteria that grows on raw flour as well as E. Coli

@lilyjones8122 3 months ago

"It's not the worst thing we've made." Yeah, but that bar is in hell, Katelyn.

You can make good papier-mâché with expired flour

@gabi-saint 3 months ago (edited)

At 34:55 - Eggs can be fine most of the time past their expiration date if stored appropriately.
To check and make sure, though, you put cold water in a cup / bowl / whatever and put the eggs in.
If they float they went bad, if they sink they're good. If they sink but stay vertical they're on the way to getting bad / about to go bad in very short time.

39:00 I think you should give the Tabasco cookies another chance with fresh cocoa powder. Vinegar and cocoa powder create a chemical reaction that not only enhances the chocolate taste but also omits the vinegar taste. All while turning the cookies red, just like in a red velvet cake!
