Cowley County Community College head coach Donnie Jackson joins the JUCO Virtual Tour to break down the Tigers’ identity and expectations heading into the new season.

Entering his sixth season as Cowley’s head coach, Jackson is looking to build around a long, athletic group that can push the tempo without sacrificing structure or discipline. With experienced returners who understand the program’s expectations, the Tigers are focused on establishing a style built around pace, defensive intensity and competing every possession.

“We really like to have pace and play fast, but within structure and discipline.”

For Jackson, maintaining that intensity throughout an entire game is essential. Developing the team’s depth will be a major priority, allowing Cowley to consistently play the demanding style of basketball he envisions.

“I think our identity is going to be somebody that defends and competes the entire game.”

Jackson also dives into the importance of returning experience, developing the Tigers’ bench, building a disciplined identity and much more in this can’t-miss Coaches Corner interview.
