It only took Tywin two and a half minutes to talk Tyrion into shooting him.

When this episode aired, it was Father's Day in the United States

A Lannister always pays his debts.
When you think of it, Tyrion was everything a father would be proud of: he's extremely smart, he understands geopolitics, he has moral and physical courage, and has a sense of honor (a little bit twisted, yes, but still). Tywin should have seen this in him.
Hats off to Charles Dance for letting us enjoy a villainous, immoral yet fascinating bad guy.

It's somewhat poetic that Tywin of all people died such an undignified death.

The remains of Lord Tywin are shown in his crimson armor for seven days in the Great Sept of Baelor. The smell of the body is so bad many of the mourners grow sick or faint from being too near. A drying of the mouth also causes Tywin's lips to curl up and make him appear to smile....He died on a toilet and is buried stinky

If there is one thing we learned is that in his final moments, Tywin Lannister didn't shit gold.

This is the guy who orchestrated the red wedding. Good for Tyrion

And it’s Joffrey’s crossbow lol

Tywin's own lesson ended his life. Tyrion remembers him saying a smart man never issues a threat he's not prepared to follow through on. When Tywin mockingly asked if Tyrion was afraid of a dead whore after he was warned not to say whore again, he was kinda the architect of his own demise.

Literally caught with his pants down

So in the end Tywin Lannister didn't shit gold

I don't know if people realize how big of a monster Tywin is as a character...

In the books, it's said that Tywin is so rich that he shits gold. So him getting killed while taking a shit was the only right way for him to go.

What is hliariously ironic is that Tywin really wanted a legacy people would remember. Well he got one. Killed on the shiiter by a dwarf with a crossbow lol.

You guys need to read the books. It's implied Oberon poisoned Tywin before Tyrion actually killed him.

Tywin was won of those characters you were supposed to hate, but because he was so masterfully acted you ended up kind of liking him. I was sad to see him go, but he had to at some point, to allow the plot to move forward.

Tywin had so much power for so long that he forgot what it's like to be powerless. He forgot that, when you're on the other side of a crossbow, you can't run your mouth like you normally do.

"I have always been your son"...... The most powerful words of this scene......easily my two favourite characters of GOT!

Tywin Lannister's death was a long way coming, all the lives he's ruined, the monsters he hired, the betrayals, atrocities, and the years of damage and abuse he had done to his children - especially to Tyrion, the near endless mockery, the belittling and the torture of witnessing and experiencing what Tywin's men had done to his first wife. So I find it rather fitting that he perishes on the privy by the hands of the child he hated most, the little Lion
