I've finally realized what this podcast is. It's two grown men coming to the realization that everything they loved and cherished as children was actually an hilarious, cheesy load of shit. And hot damn is it funny.

You know you watched DSF and then the naughty movie after it. They even said hello to UK fans on a few of the PPVs they showed.

Even I found a leather waistcoat in my wardrobe, I'm not American, not a wrestler, not a cowboy, not a boy. How did it get there?

Funny how Mark didn't mention how all those German satellite channels would show almost nothing but ads for saucy chatlines after 9pm. I guess he went to bed early.

Fun fact: Robot Chicken Star Wars Part 3 is the first time the “freeze frame while Baba O’Reilly plays” trope ever happens in media. I remember watching it for the first time, being convinced it’s a reference to something and no. It’s an original idea that everyone watching thought was from something because it felt so familiar and came from a show that normally has a lot of parodies. Proper Mandela effect.

Please insert Carl Lewis' "Uh oh." after famous botches in wrestling. Imagine seeing Shockmaster fall through the wall - "UH OH"

As someone with a bucket head who can't wear snapbacks I feel Dusty's pain. Extra wide baseball hats are truly a blessing

BanyaBat is trying to kill us with these edits, nearly choked on the Spongebob one!

The singer is Brandi Brown, who is the daughter of Roseanne Bar.
She’s doing a better job than her mother at doing the National Anthem.

I also watched WCW (in the UK) on DSF in the mid-90's to around 2000. Found it by accident by flicking through the german section of my Astra decoder. As a kid, you remember the day, time and channel that you found the wrestling on and go back 1 week later to see if it had came back on.
on New Year's Eve , DSF would air about 3/4 WCW Pay Per Views back to back. It was called "WCW Fan Power"

also, that music being played at 2:53 is DDP's 1st WCW entrance music.

Hulk's issues with Marvel were because he was called The Incredible Hulk before he was known as The Immortal.

in italy, in the nineties, DSF (through analog satellite receiver) was the only way i could watch WCW. PPV were free for a number of years, but heavily cut

Still insane to me how underrated Wrestle Me is, I've only been back into watching wrestling for a year or so now, but this is the only wrestling related channel I go back to over and over again

The DSF groovy catalogue music @2:48 is actually the stock production music WCW used for DDP's first theme "Glam Rock" aka a Schools Out rip off

Oh it's so funny to see real native English speakers being forced to watch wrestling in German. I did as well back in the 90s. In Denmark we do have German in school, so I guess it was ok - Carsten Schäfer and Uli Fessler was not the same as the American commentary teams though. Cool memories though.

Always watched the wcw shows on dsf. I recall one time when the commentators suddenly broke into English and said, hello we know you are out there watching

Turner Home Entertainment cut up all their PPV's from 87-93 for VHS release. I'm told this was done was so they could use the more inexpensive 2hr EP tapes even though LP existed. They were also really expensive at retail originally even for the 90's ($20-$30 each for WWF Coliseum, around $60 ach for WCW)

It wouldn't surprise me if that singer was just a secretary or assistant they had go out there when they either couldn't book anyone, the booked act didn’t show up or doing it was a last minute decision
