Anyone who doesn't think he was one of the greatest guitar players who ever walked the face of the earth, doesn't know what they're talking about.

He's the perfect example of being from the greatest generation. His character says it all. A nice, but tough no nonsense city boy. RIP Joe were awesome!

He's a REAL jazz guitar genius!

My guitar teacher has asked me multiple times, "Have you listened to Joe Pass?". I finally did and understand why. What a natural and geneous on the guitar.

I was 13 years old when I studied with Joe in west Hollywood. He was a wonderful man and I couldn't wait to have my next lesson. I only studied with him for 3 weeks as my dad put us on a plane back to Connecticut. I was devastated, but those 3 lessons were golden and are still a major part of my playing

Esilarante a 50:37 : "Don't ask me about modes, because I don't know anything about'em and that's it !!!".  Bellissimo documentario, l'avrò visto una decina di volte.

I saw Joe Pass perform twice I was to shy to approach and speak to him,I regret it now.

“Joe’s Blues” near the end is straight fire 🔥 and I’ve never heard him sing and scat before. He was such a virtuoso

This is an incredible historical document. Joe had absolutely everything! He could go from heart wrenching ballads to burning hot bop and anything in between. His comping is the best I’ve ever heard, his work with Ella is pure gold! I have an es-165 almost exactly like the one Joe uses here 👌🏻

He is so humble and gratefull, and thanks God for his gift

As I progress through life playing jazz guitar, I'm able to see gradually farther and farther up the colossal mountain that is Joe's mastery.  It's something I particularly enjoy.  Long live the King.

This is a jewel; the great genius, Mr. Passalacqua. He is in Heaven making music with the rest of our heroes. RIP. Thank you for sharing.

I was fortunate enough to catch Joe at the Polytone booth at NAMM in 1987. He was my guitar hero.

Wonderful.   I saw him perform solo in Chicago on Rush Street when I was in high school.  It must have been 1976.  Come to think of it, I don’t know how my dad got me in that bar to see him play.  Thanks Dad!

"...looks like somebody's uncle and plays guitar like nobody's business."  -one of the best NYT quotes ever.

My style is forever infused with Joe's and I miss him dearly.  A beautiful historic record and memento of The Man  🙏

Joe pass plays guitar....I play guitar....Joe plays on a different planet. To say he's over my head is a major understatement.

Um dos melhores guitarrista do mundo  não tem ninguém que toca como Joe pass

His humble "just a regular Joe" personality is so deceiving! 😄 But listen close and take notes. A treasure trove of wisdom. Thank you for this priceless keepsake video.
