a) For International Cat Day, Shintaro Kojima revealed some more information regarding the creation of Felynes: While the team was designing Goblins, it was Executive Producer Noritaka Funamizu who initially suggested a variant sketch that resembled a cat. Oceaniz is actually just a documentary filmmaker who happens to be on YouTube

Realizing that the guy who designed Khezu designed Plesioth just makes so much sense, they both have a very similar aura and personality to them, and it's really funny that the person who designed them didn't end up liking fighting them in the final game lmao.

Can't even lie, I cry a bit every time I watch an in depth Monster Hunter video such as this one,
My introduction to the series was Monster Hunter for the PS2, but as an impatient 8 year old at the time it did NOT click for me, but thankfully Freedom Unite brought me back to my current favorite franchise ever,
I would spend days and nights playing FU on my PSP while lying on my father's chest and he would watch me play that game incessantly and he was fascinated by it,
My father passed away in 2024, but every single time I boot up a MH game or I watch something as incredible as this, it reminds me of him. I'm sure he would've loved Wilds as much as I do. Miss ya dad.

I can only imagine how surreal the transition from Gen 4 to Gen 5 games must’ve been for veteran players.

A great documentary of the start of this franchise.
It is hard to imagine how humble the first game was now that we have artificial monsters, a city with lowered gravity and a dragon that has rocket boosters as wings.
I do wonder where Monster Hunter will go in the future, and hope that it stays true to at least parts of its roots.

I'm always proud to be a Monster Hunter (even if only a Fiver) but never more so when I watch these videos. It's a joy that those on the outside will never understand

The games that shaped their identity: Resident Evil, Mega Man, Street Fighter. Devil May Cry, Marvel VS, Ace Attorney, Okami…and yes, Monster Hunter are distinctly Capcom! Giving consumers that unmistakable Capcom feel that keeps them coming back again and again.

We are blessed that the game's development has been that thoroughly documented, compared to other games of that time. And also blessed that you took the time to gather and organize all those sources, and translate them into video form
