I begin to get upset when recently a specialist in neurology suggested I have early sign of Parkinson's disease, the second most common brain degeneration disease after Alzeihmer's disease. I just can't get myself to fall asleep even taking one and a half spleeping pill.

Drugs for Alzheimer's disease primarily focus on managing symptoms and slowing progression. Cholinesterase inhibitors (donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine) boost communication between nerve cells, while memantine, an NMDA receptor antagonist , helps regulate glutamate activity. Newer treatments , like monoclonal antibodies , target amyloid plaques to slow cognitive decline.
