1 year passed by and now I got a new S5 + 18-40 kit with 780 euros. Crazy!

I'm a die-hard S5 user, I just shot a feature film using that camera, but one thing I have to point out about the video is that the Sony A7sIII has never been $3,000. $3500. Makes the S5 even more appealing. :-) especially when you consider that you can get it now for about $800-$1000 all over the place, while the Sony A7sIII has maintained its price pretty much, to this day.

Hey man, that was a banger video. Exactly what I was looking for, but as a video in general, it was so good! You were informational, entertaining, yet honest. Absolute banger!
If I’m going to give constructive criticism, I thought it wouldn’t be very good, because your thumbnail was not very good. With a better thumbnail I think this video would have gone even higher!
Keep up the good work my guy!

You can use the Sigma 16mm 1.4 L Mount and get the full frame look in the APSC mode in 4k 60.

Can be had here in the UK on MPB for less than £600 like new condition. A no brainer for me I think. Thanks for the video.

Great video! I'm going to love my new S5 like a child as I adventure into my rekindled photography hobby.

As someone on a budget who hasn't shot on a camera since 2018 (RIP my Nikon D40), I'm so happy that I was able to find an S5 for $745. I have missed shooting so much, and finding a camera that allows you to shoot quality nighttime photos and videos is tough for under $1000!

Just got an S5 with a TTArtisans 50mm manual lens, EF-L mount, MD-L mount, 4 batteries, 2 dummy batteries and a Tilta cage. its a bit used but it was $695. listed my sony A6000, 33mm Meike and kit lens and sold for $650. im loving the S5 and the upgrade from APSC to FF. I'm learning a ton about the system, color correction and grading. Glad to be here.

Just bought S5D at the end of 2025, for my needs it's perfect (95% photography, mostly static). For 900$ with 18-40 it's even cheaper than some trashy APSC cameras out there!

I got mine (pretty cheap) a month before mk2 came out and was devastated at first but realised I only use AF for photos anyway and have no issues at all. Great bit of kit!

Great breakdown. Might just go for this over the gh6.

Just for the record I use hi res mode all the time! Handheld is no problem with native lens! 50-1.8 🤌🏾

On which camera your headshot (this video) was shot on?

The S series is for video focused jobs, Sony has the R series for photo focused cameras and the A7 series for hybrid ones.

I love my s5 for general photography, better than expected. Ergonomics are spot on (similar to Pentax, better than my A7Riii) I originally got it as a backup (wt ibis/evf) for using the Sigma lens I brought for my fp&fpL..

I was looking for camera to upgrade from xiaomi 15 ultras 1" sensor, which is also great camera, and bit of phone on side, with photography kit still remains my edc. But to S5 ticks so many boxes that i am going to order it, S5D 999€ with kit lens is fantastic value, i do photography 98% and video 2% for that i have xiaomi with up to 8K video, and i do not need fastest AF but i need good low light performance.
