A CRACKDOWN in PUERTO POLLENSA: One Rule for Some? (Mallorca)

Mallorca Under the Sun

In this video, find out why there is a crackdown in Puerto Pollensa and why it seems there is one rule for some restaurants and hotels and another rule for others.

I'm taking a look at the controversial removal of the tables and chairs from La Terrassa Restaurant terrace, which is part of the Illa d'Or hotel, as well as how it looks now, and what this means for visitors.

I also talk to a few holidaymakers along the way about their thoughts on the empty terraces.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below this video.

Sardinia wants Brits. It is cheaper, quieter and the beaches are stunning. I’m taking my money there now.

We normally visit twice a year but now only once, replacing it with Greece 😢 They are pricing themselves out of it !! Shame

Yes the Capri. used to have a lovely dinning area on the jetty, but not I think for the last couple years, again I would imagine due to the Costas!! 😥🌅🌴

I stayed at Hotel Sis Pins in 1988 when I was 18yrs. Quiet but I loved the front and sunbathing there. I’d love to go back there and have a beach view this time ! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Arrived yesterday morning Palma airport, super efficient transit through EES portal and then egate within 30 minutes of landing. Loads of helpful staff, couldn’t fault it 😊

Hi Alex, it was great to meet you a few weeks ago in Puerto Pollença!! we have been watching you every Thursday for so long, your videos always make us excited to come back to Mallorca🥰

Not long back from Agios Stefanos a lovey quiet village in Corfu with a wonderful beach after giving PP (our normal go to) a miss this year as we didn’t trust the EES when booking. Two comfy loungers with a large umbrella and a litre of bottled water delivered in an ice filled champagne bucket 10 euro and superb value. How EES is sorted for 2027 as hitting PP twice next year 🥰

First stayed at the Capri in April 1960, road from Alcudia was gravel only, donkeys and carts still used by locals, early 1900”sRenault regularly pottered around the town, pristine renovation. So different now, was there few years ago, so busy! Took our own car on ferry from Spain, not expensive! Roger in Spain 79

The Capri definitely had restaurant tables on the jetty. I’ve sat there a few times to eat.

Great video, it all seems a little corrupt. but I do like the fact that the big hotels can't buy up the front and make it exclusive for guests.

I’m a cyclist and cycled PP and Mallorca a few times. Cycling on the front and Pine Walk is a serious no-no. Use the road behind, that’s what it’s there for. Lovely area - a quiet spot on a noisy Island.

Fantastic video Alex. Wish I was back there. The views are amazing. The jettys are an integral part of PP and a big part of it's charm. I have to say I am baffled by the decisions of the Costas authority. Only 87 days until I am back. Best wishes, John
