I took a day trip from Benidorm to Altea, one of the most beautiful towns in Spain - known for its whitewashed buildings, cobbled streets, and stunning Mediterranean views. Everything was going perfectly… until the entire town lost power.

From tram rides from Benidorm, exploring Altea's charming old town, climbing to the famous church at the top, and hunting for a bite to eat - to being caught in a blackout with no mobile signal, no working ATMs, and hardly any cash - this turned into one of the most unexpected travel experiences I’ve had!

hopefully videos like this will make people realise why cash is so important to keep and maybe use more cash instead of cards all the time , i allways use cash when i can and keep trying to tell my kids to try and use cash or we will loose it as its getting that way all ready but its only times like this that the majority think about it .

James this video will be more significant now. It is scary to think that this happens more frequently.. and we definitely cant go cashless..all businesses need to prepare for this on a bigger scale. Altea looks lovely 😊 will defo visit!

Was sent to this video regarding the issue of a cashless society. This is why we need to keep cash alive. If we can be switched off at anytime, for what ever reason, this is the reality of our future. Loved the video 👍

That was us trying to get on the bus and told no, we couldn't get on 😢 cash was king that day and we had just enough to get a taxi back ( although that wasn't easy) We definitely need to keep cash alive! 😮😮

This is why we need to keep cash alive. A power cut in Spain, France and Portugal is no coincidence or “atmospheric phenomenon”. People are saying it might happen in the UK next so best be prepared in case it does

😂You got more news about the outage than I did from my house in the center of Madrid!!!! I thought it was just my building or at worst, my area. No internet no news, nothing. I didn't know anything until my daughter came home unexpectedly and told me it was all of Spain, Portugal and some of the South of France 😮😮😮😂❤.
