THIS WILL HUNT! | Andino Trout Deceiver | Fly Tying Tutorial

In this video, I’m scaling down the legendary Andino Deceiver for a more versatile, trout-focused version. After discovering this fly was developed in the same Argentine province where I lived as a teenager, I wanted to see how it performed as a smaller streamer. This downsized version retains the iconic profile and movement of the original but is perfectly suited for trout in any river. It’s a blast to tie in different colors, and because it’s so adaptable, you can match almost any baitfish in your local waters. If you’re looking for a proven streamer pattern with a deep history, this "Trout Andino" is a must-try.

You said I would like the trout version and I do. Great changes in materials. The mono foundation is great. Another guy that learned from Alan is Jeff Rowley of Rowley Bench Works. He and Joe demo deer hair a lot together and the 3 do a live podcast with a guest on Thursday nights hosted by Joe.

Learned something! Mono straight eh? Thanks!

Seems like the mono foundation would be a good way to use up some old tapered leaders. Thanks Cheech

Thanks for the instruction! Why are the eyes inside the hook and does it still ride hook point up? Thanks again.

YES, the mono straights are the real deal! I attended a show Joe did last year in Indy and he talked in depth about Dave’s Flexament using Shoe-Goo or E6000 + Xylene or Toluene (either or, not together). More thinner less viscus. Less thinner more viscus. Using flexament + mono makes a very durable fly.
