Long before Iron Man or the MCU, one R-rated dhampir changed comic book movies forever. In this video, we dive deep into the full history of Blade—from his 1973 comic debut in The Tomb of Dracula to Wesley Snipes’ iconic 1998 cinematic masterpiece that paved the way for modern superhero cinema. If this video has got you in the mood for typing "Blood raves near me" in google, the best way to type that in in style would of course be on a Keebmaker keyboard who were kind enough to sponsor this video and have some pretty cool Blade approved keyboards WITH a nice lil discount code:

I'm a bit mixed on Deadpool & Wolverine as a whole, but one of the things that I did appreciate about it was how it payed tribute to all the Marvel superhero movies from the late 90s - early 2000s era before Iron Man came along, and Wesley Snipes returning as Blade was one of the major highlights. The MCU wouldn't have happened to begin with if it weren't for Blade.

the fact that Blade is a ballet movie is never stated enough. take the epic fight at the end of the first movie and set it to ballet music. its amazing!

28:37 Blade was a sidekick in his own series. The franchise was heading exactly where Wesley said it was. ⚪️ ⚪️ Attempting to remove him and continue with more controllable actor as Blade. Similar to what Comedy Central did with the Chappelle Show.

The first time I met Blade was "Spider-Man The Animated Series" thats was an odd two-parter

I'm surprised you didn't bring up Blade being on the Spider Man The Animated series from the 90s; that was my first introduction to Blade.

I recently rewatched the Blade films. And discovered the uncut version had my favourite Ryan jokes. But the 1998 film still holds up brilliantly.

I really wish he had more lengthy solo comic runs. Such a cool character.

Imagine an alternate timeline in the MCU where after End Game, Doctor Strange does a Nick Fury and slowly recruits Midnight Sons members to fight off against supernatural / occult threat that's looming in the background only known to them while surface level superheroes does it multiversal shits

I was a pretty big Ghost Rider fan in the early 90s, (Xmen was #1 though). Blade made a couple appearances and I got into his comics from there and Night Stalkers and Midnight Sons. Long ago on the edge of memory. So many good comics in the early to mid 90s.
