In this video, I explain **why many cases of plantar fasciitis don't heal**, and why the problem isn't always just in the plantar fascia. Often, the pain appears in the heel, but the cause can lie in the arch of the foot, ankle mobility, the calf muscles, the Achilles tendon, or insufficient weight-bearing capacity of the tissue.

Plantar fasciitis is not simply "inflammation in the sole of the foot." In many cases, it is the result of a chain of dysfunction. That's why some people experience temporary relief with orthotics, stretching, or rest, but then the pain returns upon waking in the morning, pain while walking, or discomfort in the sole of the foot.

In this video we'll cover:

00:00 Why your plantar fasciitis isn't healing
00:32 What the plantar fascia really is
01:44 The relationship between the arch of the foot, flat feet, and heel pain
03:09 Calves, ankles, and plantar fasciitis
05:05 The Achilles tendon, strength, and overload of the fascia
06:25 The most common mistake: treating the pain instead of improving tissue capacity
07:55 Exercises that DO WORK
09:00 Why plantar fasciitis is a chain reaction

We'll also talk about the **heel spur**, because many people believe that heel pain comes directly from the spur, when in most cases the main problem isn't the spur itself, but rather the overload of the plantar fascia and the structures that work around the heel.

If you have pain in the sole of your foot, pain when putting weight on your heel, pain when getting out of bed, or plantar fasciitis that gets better and then returns, this video will help you understand what might be wrong and why isolated exercises or treatments aren't enough without knowing the real cause.

I'm Manu, a podiatrist specializing in biomechanics, and on this channel, I help you better understand your feet, your injuries, and your footwear so you can walk, run, and live with less pain.

In my online consultations, we analyze your case individually: type of pain, footwear, load, mobility, strength, exercises, orthotics if indicated, and strategies for gradual improvement.
